Meet in the Middle

For this project Makenna and I wanted to play with the relationship between art and stem majors. We decided to create something in the math and science building that would draw attention and force people to look up and wonder the why behind the piece. As an art piece it held a very mathematical vibe and was fitting for the space. The colors we used were the primary colors which are proven to be the base color palette needed to crate any color.

The process to make this project was fun and refreshing, it took us about an hour. We walked back an and forth along the stairwell to wrap the strings on the railings while students studied. Some even came up to us and questioned us along the way.

Students from our class interacting with the piece during the day. The string had a different quality to it during the day because the sunlight hit the fibers in the most beautiful way.
